The North East Apprenticeship Ambassador Network has welcomed publication Skills England’s Assessment of Priority Skills to 2030 report.
NEAAN’s Alan Wallace said:
“This report provides the first comprehensive look at how future employment demand will shape skills needs across ten key sectors and highlights the scale of opportunity ahead. With employment demand in priority sectors expected to rise by almost one million roles by 2030, two-thirds requiring qualifications at Level 4 and above, apprenticeships will be required to play a vital role in meeting this challenge.
“It also underlines the critical importance of pathways linked to health, engineering, computing, and construction, sectors already vital to the North East economy where apprenticeships are already delivering real impact, providing pathways into high-value careers and supporting local growth.
“Apprenticeships are central to meeting this challenge. They provide high-quality, practical routes into these priority careers, while ensuring employers access to talent and skills needed to thrive. NEAAN is committed to working with employers, educators, and Government to ensure apprenticeships remain at the forefront of developing a skilled workforce, supporting both local growth and national priorities, and opening up life-changing opportunities for people across our region.”
