Will apprentices rise to the challenge?

December 11, 2025

Our North East apprentice champions are ready to once again enter fray for the sixth Great Apprentice Bake-Off.

The event will be largest ever bake-off organised by the NEAAN and the British Army, and mark National Apprenticeship Week 2026.

Army chefs will once again turn up the heat on apprentice teams, putting them through their paces in a three-day competition on February 9, 10, 11, at Grantham Barracks, Lincolnshire.

More used to preparing meals on the frontline than overseeing Apprentice Ambassadors, the chefs will even set their own challenge for Apprentice Ambassador teams, who will also have to make a bake of their own celebrating apprenticeships.

Organised by NEAAN, the event attracts Ambassadors from across the country to compete. It is just one part of a week-long programme of events to celebrate apprenticeships and demonstrate the benefits they offer individuals and businesses of all sizes.
