Sintons are proud to be part of the North East Solicitor Apprenticeship (NESA) which was the first of its kind in the North East. The scheme and partnership has been hailed for its unique and innovative approach into opening up the legal profession to young people.
Our six-year programme allows you to study for an LLB (Hons) in Legal Practice to qualify as a solicitor whilst working and being paid a salary, without having to pay the university fees. Throughout the six years you will working four days a week and spend one day studying with Northumbria University. You will work in at least four different legal departments over the six years which will offer experience of a full range of work. Your first two years are likely to be in the same department to help you settle and get to grips with the world of work while studying.
The apprenticeship combines practical work-based learning with formal study. You will gain valuable, real-life experience, enhancing your commercial understanding and growing your confidence in a work environment.
We work very closely as a firm, and while we are split into a number of departments, everyone knows everyone else. We pride ourselves on the close working relationships we have throughout Sintons. Our group of trainee solicitors and solicitor apprentices take a lead in our firm-wide fundraising efforts, on behalf of our nominated firm charity, which will give you a chance to get to know our firm and our people very quickly.
